WeatherBank
Announces New Weather Service to the Transportation Industry
EDMOND,
Okla., October 11, 1999—On Monday, WeatherBank Inc. announced its new
Web-based weather information service designed to give 24-hour weather support
to the transportation industry.
The
company’s new service, the WeatherBank Advantage, provides weather information
through custom Web pages created for individual clients, said Executive Vice
President and CFO Michael R. Root.
“Our
service is tailored to fit each client,” Michael Root said. “We design Web
pages that contain the data our clients want so it takes less time for them to
get the weather information they need.” Current Radar images, highway weather
reports and exclusive road condition maps are a few of the products clients
choose from, Michael Root said. In all, there are more than 35,000 different
weather products available through WeatherBank’s system.
In
addition, Michael Root said transportation clients also have unlimited access to
WeatherBank’s staff of meteorologists with the Advantage service. A
professional analysis of changing weather conditions is available at any time by
calling a toll-free number from anywhere in the US.
“Winter
weather has a significant impact on our clients in the transportation industry.
We work around the clock to keep our clients informed of weather conditions that
will negatively impact their business,” said WeatherBank president Steven A.
Root.
With
the advance warning provided by WeatherBank’s forecasts, transportation
professionals lower transit times, avoid delays, reduce accidents and increase
profit margins, Michael Root said.
