As a subscriber to our Standard Commercial access at WeatherBank.com, you will have access to all of the products available in our personal use - Unlimited Account, PLUS access to our newest NEXRAD Radar products. These NEXRAD products are part of our Weather Risk Management Program and include three short-term, predictive applications: Storm Predictor™, Rain Predictor™, and Hail Predictor™.

Storm Predictor™ forecasts the movement and evolution of storms and radar echoes for 30 minutes into the future. This application is an enhanced version of MIT/Lincoln Laboratory's Terminal Convective Weather Forecast System developed for the FAA. The application was rigorously tested for more than 5 years at a number of locations throughout the United States.

Hail Predictor™ predicts the areal extent of hail 30 minutes in advance and is able to differentiate between hail less than ¾ inch, ¾ inch to 1-¾ inch, and 2 inches and greater in diameter. The Hail Predictor™ is an extension of the Hail Detection Algorithm that runs on the NEXRAD radar systems, which was developed by the National Severe Storms Laboratory.

Rain Predictor™ forecasts rainfall accumulation for the next 60 minutes. It also uses the algorithms developed with MIT/Lincoln Laboratory's Terminal Convective Weather Forecast System. Rain Predictor™ output is a high-resolution (less than 4 km) grid of one-hour precipitation estimates, presented in a color graphic.

The Weather Risk Management Program of our Standard Commercial access also provides a high degree of data and graphical functionality by allowing the user to pan and zoom in on each map, add various layers of map demographics (county outlines, interstates, etc.), animate the images over various time frames, examine various NEXRAD and storm attributes, and much more. The NEXRAD Radar data presented in the service will update in near, real-time, in intervals of approximately six minutes.
