WeatherBank, Inc. Corporate History

WeatherBank began in Salt Lake City and has supplied weather information services to broadcast media outlets since 1972.

WeatherBank's executive management purchased the company in 1992 and relocated its corporate offices four years later to Edmond, Oklahoma, an Oklahoma City suburb. Here the company has grown significantly, and now employs nearly 30 people. The staff includes a team of professional meteorologists, computer programmers, graphic artists, customer service representatives, administrative, and marketing personnel.

Steven A. Root is the company President and CEO while his twin brother Michael R. Root is WeatherBank's Executive Vice President and CFO. Together, they've brought WeatherBank into the most profitable era of the company's history.

In addition to serving Broadcast Media outlets, WeatherBank's Services also benefit clients in other industries. This includes Energy Distribution & Marketing, Forestry, Aviation, Emergency Management, Transportation and more.
