WeatherBrief® Services

WeatherBank has several different services to meet the needs of Broadcast media professionals. Some of our most popular services include the WeatherBrief®-Satellite 6.0 program and the WeatherBrief®-Net service. However, any of our products or services can be customized to suit your particular needs.

WeatherBrief®-Satellite 6.0

This is a proprietary, DOS software program that you install on an IBM-compatible computer. A satellite antenna and data receiver are connected to the PC and used to deliver a continuous supply of weather data transmitted from WeatherBank's network.

Information is updated automatically and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week without your having to do a thing. There's no Internet traffic to worry about and no telecommunications problems--with WeatherBrief-Satellite, you have a personal weather station at your fingertips.

Software features allow you to set alarms to alert you when certain products update. For example, you can easily configure the program to display a warning box when the National Weather Service issues a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for your area. Or, the local forecast can be set to automatically print whenever it's updated so you always have the latest copy at hand.

WeatherBrief®-Net

This is a custom weather website accessed through the Internet. No special software or equipment is required, and you can view current weather information anywhere you have access to the World Wide Web.

All information is automatically updated as soon as our network receives it, and new products are added as they are developed. WeatherBrief-Net makes an excellent redundant weather data source to ensure you're never without access to the critical weather information you need.

Re-broadcasting our products for on-air display can require the use of a third party software. This can be easily accomplished and many of our clients are doing this successfully. We recommend FrameRate's NetLink™. They provide the necessary scripts and macros needed to convert our .GIF or .PCX files for cable services. For more information, point to www.framerate.com.
